CAMPSITE BREAKDOWN
Lakeside campsite – [Hochatown, OK]
This was a chill trip… fishing in the river and relaxing by the lake with a brew was the theme. I like to document my trips for me and anyone else that watches and is interested, but as usual YouTube only has so much time… so below is the campsite breakdown.
Quick Stats Elevation: ~600 ft | Rigs: ~5 | Cell: Verizon None, AT&T None | Best seasons: Year round.
Getting There about 9 miles off highway 259. Stock 4×4 rigs and non 4×4’s can easily make it to this spot. Took about an hour to traverse one way
On-Site Details
Fire rings: some are provided but not in our specific spot
Privacy: medium - is a group camping area, so can be crowded or noisy depending on the time of year. Spring break is super crowded…
Amenities: Vault toilets, fire rings, and that’s about it.
Pros / Cons Pros: Beautiful spot by the lake. Easy access to the water and open areas for camp. Cons: Long way from the highway so if you want to fish it’s gonna take awhile to get to the river and it can be super crowded and noisy at times.
Exact Coordinates & Tips Primary spot: 34.28081, -94.68417 Pro hack: If this spot is taken there is another more secluded and less traversed site to camp at, however it’s only large enough for a few rigs. Details is in the onX data.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
As I mentioned in last months newsletter I didn’t catch any trout in New Mexico. So I was bound and determined to catch some trout this time. After some tips from the boys and some good casts I made it happen. Info on this fishing spot is in the onX data.
Felt good to get a trout in the net!
One of the best sunrises I have seen in awhile.
